We resecured loose floorboards, removed some bad stains, cleaned then stained a 600 sq ft deck in Evanston. We have also rebuilt the front railing supports to mirror the original classic design and will be painting the homes exterior in the coming days.

3 summers ago…we decided to field test wood treatment products. We applied four different brand products to our picnic table and placed it in full sun. Deck Staining and Repair
Our customer’s backyard deck had dried out, cracked, twisted and buckled; it was in sad shape. We explained that the reverse side of each board had never seen the sun, or been touched by a harsh winter.
We replaced a few bad boards and flipped the decking, gave it a good scrubbing and a coat of stain. They saved at least $1,500.00 in new wood alone.

We presented a bid to refinish eight decks for a condo association and were informed that someone offered to do it for 40% less than us. I reworked the numbers and felt that our price was reasonable. As a cost saving measure The Condo Association selects the lower bidder. Conclusion: the decks need to be redone; the contractor splashed stain/sealer onto the roof, metal flashings, gutter, AC unit, door threshold(s), painted wood trim and recently painted metal railing. Stain/Sealer cannot be removed from a rubber roof, and it will cost the association far more than our original estimate to complete the remaining repairs. BTW, lowest bidder did not have insurance.
